Snowed in!

Hello mom and others who googled "Pictures of kittens" and found me!  A little housecleaning, for that second group, you're gonna want to go back to the google search results and hit the "images" link.  OOOHHH SO CUTE!  Alright, that's out of my system.

Now, I am writing this from the middle of a good old fashioned blizzard.  My roommate Kate just went outside to try to go to work, waded into the hip-deep snow, and then came back a defeated barista.  Then she woke me up (it was about 5:30 am), and we decided to start our snow day early.  Like...really early.  So you're all going to have to wait at least until the sun comes up to see pictures from outside.

A quick sidebar, all this talk about blizzards makes me really want a Dairy Queen blizzard, which is disturbing because I can't remember the last Dairy Queen I saw.  Come on NYC, get it together.  In fact, I'm going to start a list right now of all the things that would make New York City a better place, and the first thing is going to be a Dairy Queen.

Back to the snowstorm, it actually comes at an ideal time (other than it delaying my other roommate's flight back into town), because it perfectly coincides with the post-Christmas lull.  So really regardless of the weather I would probably spend the days not doing anything...and because it's Christmas I trust that you, dear reader, will refrain from pointing out that my tendency to sit on the couch all day has nothing to do with the season.  Though I do have one plan for the day, and that is a snowball fight.  There is a snowball fight club that hosts snowball-fight-themed games like capture the flag or dodgeball, and the first event of the season is this afternoon.  So as long as the snow hasn't shut down the subway system completely by then, it'll be a rollicking time.

The sun is coming up now, so I'm going to get all bundled up and try to get some pictures.  I will, however, leave you with this picture of my kitties:

Happy snow day everyone!

UPDATE:  Snow pictures!

That's a tow truck up the street there...it's stuck.
